Howdy fellow heads.

Wondering where I can find a high time with a jerry solo in it. I know of only one version (which is killer IMO) which is DP 13's version. Every other version lacks the solo, Any help peeps?

Hey Wisconsin-give this one from Philly a shot- 'come in when it's raiiinin'-sweet. Lots of other nuggets in this show, including the 2nd 'Box' revival and last Sailor - Bob's Hamlet soliloquy here might very well be the reason they canned it! Saint kicks ass, and a killer space>Dew too!

thanks guys. appreciate it.

My favorite High Time from 1976 is 1976-06-28. I highly suggest it, i think it will blow your socks off, and likely trump the 1976-07-16 version, at least IMO.

Anyone have an idea why the jam was hit or miss?

Oops, I meant the 1976-06-19 version you referred to earlier.

And o yea, DEW from 1986-03-24. SO AMAZING!

Don’t be that way... I’d guess you were referring to the solo Jerry takes between the third and fourth verses, consisting of a lead through a verse and chorus( which post hiatus was always done as an intro.)
As far as I can find, the 5/6/81 Nassau (DP 13) High Time is the first ! They next do an instrumental break here on 10/6/81 in London: http://www.archive.org/details/gd1981-10-06.sbd.miller.103627.flac16

And then in Hartford fall tour ’84:

Followed by 11/1/85 Richmond, VA: http://www.archive.org/details/gd85-11-01.oade.connor.9217.sbeok.shnf
And shortly thereafter:

And there I rest.

Nothing’s for certain…

Nice work. I will listen to these when I get a chance. But my kids are watching The Sound of Music dvd this Sunday morning. Can't go wrong there.

The only one I knew from memory was Richmond ’85. I was surprised at not finding any guitar solos in the sweet renditions from 1976, which is where I began the search. Did poke around a bit in ’69 and ’70, but not thoroughly.

It appears that after the 3/24/86 show that rippley points out, High Time is only played in the first set, and I could only find one more version with an instrumental, where Jerry does a solo between the bridge and verse three:

Enjoy your Sunday (great musical, although my girls were more enamored with Mary Poppins!)
Planted all my tomatoes yesterday, and will put out the rest of my transplants today.

No versions with a solo comes to mind, but this is about as close to perfect as the GD come.A beautiful mix of vocals, piano and bass put this one over the top,at about 7:40 the nothing's for certain verse just peaks in such a satisfying manner.I don't have very many favorite versions of GD songs, but this is hands down my favorite High Time.

I always remember loving the summer 76 versions, so that is where I started a small search too. Found the intro solo played beautifully June-July, but after a long day, I just wanted to relax and let some music play. I knew someone would come up with the goods of better memory and research than my effort and - vapors has done it again...
